Available for current Nielsen ONE Ads customers, this new capability predicts sales lift and incremental revenue for a given Nielsen ONE Ads campaign.

Nielsen is introducing this new feature to address marketers’ needs for a holistic view of campaign outcomes in today’s fragmented media landscape.

New York, April 27, 2026 – Nielsen, a global leader in audience measurement, data and marketing intelligence, today announced the introduction of Predictive Sales Lift, a new, differentiated capability that helps marketers and agencies gain better insights into media campaign outcomes.

Available for current Nielsen ONE Ads customers, this new feature predicts sales lift and incremental revenue for a given Nielsen ONE Ads campaign. It utilizes key campaign measurement performance indicators (such as reach, impression count, distribution of impressions across platforms) and brand characteristics (such as category, brand size, and purchase frequency the campaign is targeting) to deliver these predictions.

Predictive Sales Lift utilizes sales lift results from hundreds of historical Nielsen ONE Ads campaigns as the basis for its analysis and predictions. This new feature will be live for general availability in May.

Nielsen is introducing this new capability to address marketers’ needs for a holistic view of campaign outcomes in today’s fragmented media landscape as well as one that is easy to use, integrate and interoperable.

Many sales effectiveness solutions today are incomplete, lacking the traditional reach and frequency metrics needed to provide a holistic view. This disconnect makes it difficult for advertisers to evaluate how their spend impacts both short-term sales and long-term brand awareness.

This new capability addresses the need for an always-on, measurement-based, predictive way to evaluate sales effectiveness.

For advertisers, it provides a directional measurement of sales performance, along with reach/frequency insights to allow for mid-campaign optimizations.

Publishers, meanwhile, will benefit from an always-on, directional assessment of campaign performance that can happen in-flight, allowing advertisers to optimize mid-campaign.

The other two net industry benefits are an affordable and effective way to predict sales performance and the ability to get a read on campaigns that may not be feasible for traditional sales lift measurement due to campaign size or budget constraints.

Nielsen is drawing on its expertise as the industry’s media intelligence leader to deliver on a much needed industry need for a full-funnel view of campaign performance that provides predictive sales outcomes powered by Nielsen’s trusted Nielsen ONE measurement foundation.

“Predictive Sales Lift is a major outcomes differentiator because it gives our clients a full-funnel view of campaign performance, underpinned by our Nielsen ONE measurement foundation, expertise and insights,” said Nichole Henderson, SVP of Global Measurement & Outcomes Product, Nielsen. “The industry is headed towards an outcomes driven future and this is the latest proof point of how we continue to deliver for our clients and the industry on this front.”

Predictive Sales Lift can be applied to media types spanning digital and CTV. Industry verticals that may find this solution to be especially useful include retail, financial services, technology, telecommunications, travel and tourism, media and entertainment and healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

This solution is presently available in the U.S. only.

New market intelligence offering gives businesses a clearer view of local consumers, competitors and media behaviour before they invest

Auckland – April 22, 2026 Nielsen is helping New Zealand businesses make smarter international growth decisions with a market intelligence approach designed to bring greater clarity, confidence and commercial discipline to expansion planning.

As more brands look beyond their home market for growth, the challenge is no longer simply about scaling up, it is about making the right strategic decisions before investment is committed. Understanding how consumers behave, where competitors are spending, which channels matter most and what messages resonate locally can make the difference between entering a market confidently and entering it blindly.

Nielsen’s unified market intelligence offering is built to help businesses assess opportunities more clearly before they move. It brings together competitive advertising intelligence, consumer and media insights, and local market context to help brands understand the realities of each market before making major commercial decisions.

This includes helping organisations evaluate how competitor investment varies by market, channel and category, which creative messages are landing with audiences, whether media choices reflect genuine local behaviour, and whether budget allocations are backed by evidence rather than assumption.

The approach is designed for brands entering new regions, as well as those looking to strengthen their position across established international markets. By combining global reach with local understanding, Nielsen helps businesses identify where the strongest growth opportunities exist, where messaging may need to be adapted, and where bespoke research or concept testing could add greater value.

Amanda Gill, Senior Manager for Nielsen New Business NZ said: “Businesses expanding across borders need more than ambition alone. International growth can be full of opportunity, but it also comes with complexity. The brands that perform best are usually the ones that take the time to understand local consumers, competitive dynamics and media behaviour before they invest.”

Helene Maurer, Commercial Director, NZ Agencies & Advertisers added: With Nielsen’s market intelligence capabilities, businesses can move forward with a much clearer understanding of where the opportunity sits, what success is likely to require in each market, and how to make decisions with greater confidence.”

Nielsen’s market intelligence solutions are designed to help businesses reduce uncertainty, prioritise investment more effectively and move faster on the opportunities that matter most.

For New Zealand organisations with global ambition, the goal is simple: see the opportunity clearly, act on it faster, and outperform with confidence.

Warsaw, Poland, 22.04.26: Nielsen, a global leader in audience measurement, data, and media intelligence, has today announced a long-term strategic cooperation with the Polish Organisation of Advertisers (POR).

This landmark partnership is dedicated to championing effective marketing, driving innovation, and establishing the highest industry standards within Poland’s dynamic $3.7 billion advertising market.

Launched in November 2023, POR (local WFA) has emerged as a vital, powerful new voice advocating for the interests of brand marketers in Poland and Central Europe. By cooperating with the World Federation of Advertisers’ (WFA) global network—spanning national industry associations in more than 60 countries, POR successfully filled a significant gap in the region. Prior to its inception, Poland operated without a local advertiser association, despite the immense scale and value of its annual ad spend.

The overarching goal of this new long-term cooperation is to strengthen the positions of both POR and Nielsen as foundational pillars supporting the media and advertising ecosystem in Poland.

Through this partnership, the two organisations will collaborate on several key objectives:

  • Driving Industry Development: Jointly undertaking initiatives that serve the growth and maturation of the Polish advertising industry.
  • Promoting Innovation: Championing forward-thinking solutions in the areas of media research and marketing effectiveness.
  • Enhancing Knowledge Sharing: Facilitating access to independent expertise, data, market analyses, and overarching market trends.
  • Professionalising the Market: Actively exchanging experiences and best practices to elevate the professional standards of the advertiser market.

Michal Buszko, Media Agencies & Advertisers CEE Leader, Nielsen said: “At Nielsen, we are deeply committed to empowering the industry with the clarity and insights needed to drive true marketing effectiveness. Poland is a robust, $3.7 billion advertising market that deserves world-class standards and representation. The voice and changing needs of Polish marketers are a strategic priority for us. We are thrilled to embark on this partnership with POR, as it allows us to collaboratively foster innovation, share critical market intelligence, and help Polish brand marketers navigate an increasingly complex media landscape. We look forward to this journey of close partnership and to collectively shaping a future-ready media ecosystem in Poland.”

Dariusz Maciołek, CMO BNP Paribas, President POR, added: “Since our launch in November 2023, our primary mission has been to give Polish marketers a strong, unified voice and to integrate our market into the global standards championed by the WFA. This strategic cooperation with Nielsen is a major step forward in that mission. By combining POR’s advocacy with Nielsen’s unparalleled expertise in media intelligence and marketing research, we can provide our members with the tools, knowledge, and best practices necessary to professionalise and elevate the entire industry.”

The nation unites around football team’s World Cup dream

Warsaw, Poland, 20.04.26: Nielsen, a global leader in audience measurement, data, and media intelligence, has today released its All Screens Video Landscape Report for March 2026. The report reveals that the top two most-watched programmes of the month were the Polish national team’s two World Cup play-off matches, both broadcast on TVP1 and TVP Sport.

The month’s peak viewership occurred during the play-off final against Sweden on 31st March in Stockholm. Despite goals from Nicola Zalewski and Karol Świderski, a dramatic 88th-minute winner from Sweden’s Viktor Gyökeres saw Poland narrowly defeated 3–2. The high stakes of the match drew a massive audience:

  • Average Minute Rating (AMR): 5.38 million (3.75m on TVP1; 1.63m on TVP Sport).
  • Audience Share: 45.2% of total viewing at that time.

The semi-final against Albania on 26th March was also a major draw, recording a total AMR of 4.33 million and a 40.2% share of the audience. This was the second most watched programme in March.

The All Screens Video Landscape Report tracks total household viewership (defined as a combination of total reach and time spent) in Poland across four screens – TVs, PCs/laptops, smartphones, and tablets.

Distributor Rankings & Digital Integration

The monthly distributor rankings remained stable in March, with Warner Bros. Discovery retaining the top spot for the third consecutive month. Notably, this report marks the first time TVP’s online platform results have been integrated into the Holding Telewizja Polska total, providing a more holistic picture of Polish viewership across TVs, PCs, smartphones, and tablets. Indeed this is reflected in the screen share data which shows that one per cent of the TVP Group content was viewed on other devices than the TV.

Lucyna Koba, Market Leader, Nielsen Poland, said: “Our March data underscores a fundamental truth about the Polish media landscape: live sport remains the ultimate ‘appointment to view’ experience. In a world of fragmented platforms and endless choice, the emotional pull of the national team creates a rare moment of cultural synchronicity. To see nearly 45% of the viewing audience tune in for the Sweden match proves that football is one of the few remaining catalysts capable of bringing a large part of the nation to the screen at once. Also, by integrating TVP’s online results into our All Screens Video Landscape Report for the first time, we are now seeing the full, multi-screen reality of this passion—capturing viewers whether they are on the sofa or cheering from their smartphones.”

Advertising strategies shift as competition grows for a large, active and quality-focused audience

Sydney, April 22, 2026 – New Nielsen Ad Intel data shows Australian outdoor and sports retailers are changing how they invest in advertising, as competition intensifies for the attention of outdoor enthusiasts.

Advertising spend across a selected group of major Australian outdoor and sports retailers rose 4.0% year-on-year in 2025, reaching $91.9 million, up from $88.4 million in 2024. While overall growth was moderate, the way brands allocated that spend points to increasingly different strategies as retailers looked for new ways to stay visible in a competitive market.

Anaconda was the biggest advertiser in the group in 2025, investing $17.6 million, followed by BCF (Boating Camping Fishing) at $13.0 million, then Rebel Sport at $6.6 million.

Across the retailers analysed, social media was the largest channel by spend in 2025, attracting $39.9 million, followed by metro TV at A$20.0 million, general display at $11.4 million, regional television at $10.8 million, and out-of-home at $4.3 million.

The figures show brands are taking very different paths to reach consumers interested in outdoor lifestyles. Anaconda and BCF both backed broad, high-reach strategies, spanning television, social and digital display. Rebel Sport also maintained a diversified mix, with strong investment across social, television and general display. By contrast, 4WD & Outdoor Supacentre leaned heavily into social and radio, while Kathmandu was overwhelmingly social-led. Macpac, meanwhile, remained much more television-focused than many of its competitors.

The timing of spend also points to a highly seasonal battle for attention. Investment built sharply in the second half of the year, peaking in November and December, when retailers were most aggressive in competing for consumers during key promotional and holiday periods.

The ad battle is playing out against the backdrop of a large and commercially attractive audience. New Nielsen Consumer & Media View (CMV) data shows around 15.4 million Australians identify as outdoor enthusiasts via their interest in fishing, camping or bush walking, making them a substantial audience for brands looking to connect through lifestyle, wellbeing, performance and quality.

This broad audience is 53.8% male and 46.2% female, with almost two-thirds aged under 55. The strongest concentration sits among 18-39 year olds, followed by 40-54 year olds, showing outdoor enthusiasm is especially strong among active, working-age Australians.

They are also motivated shoppers. Nielsen CMV shows 73.3% say they would spend more for quality goods, while 66.9% say they tend to hold off buying until products go on sale, suggesting this audience values quality but remains highly responsive to promotions and timing.

The data also points to a strong lifestyle connection. More than 66% say they prefer holidays where they can see nature or be in a natural setting, and Australians in this audience are 25% more likely than average to be seeking an adventure or outdoor experience on a domestic holiday in the next 12 months.

Rose Lopreiato, Pacific Commercial Lead at Nielsen Ad Intel, said: “This advertising data shows outdoor and sports retailers are not standing still. While overall spend has increased, brands are making very different choices about where and how they invest to stay visible. Some are backing broad reach across television, social and display, while others are placing more focused bets on specific channels. Nielsen Ad Intel helps advertisers understand where competitors are investing, how strategies are shifting, and where the biggest opportunities lie to compete more effectively.”

The data also shows that outdoor enthusiasts are just as likely as the average Australian to value environmentally responsible behaviour, including conserving water and energy and choosing environmentally friendly products. That points to an audience where quality, lifestyle and value matter, but where sustainability is increasingly an expectation, rather than a point of difference.

The first signs of spring in March led to Poles spending significantly less time in front of their screens, leading to a sharp 22-minute drop in average viewing time compared to February. The current watching time of 3 hours and 53 minutes is also 9 minutes lower than in March last year, confirming a deepening downward trend for both traditional TV and streaming. Despite the general decline in viewership, cable TV saw a notable structural shift, with its share increasing by 0.7 p.p., making it the strongest performer in the entire ranking.

There were some shake-ups in the traditional channel rankings: Polsat reclaimed the lead, overtaking TVN and TVP2, which rounded out the top three most popular channels of the month. Viewers were most drawn to their screens for major sporting events, such as the World Cup qualifiers on TVP1, and remained loyal to staples like the series “M jak Miłość” and the news program “Fakty.”

The streaming segment also saw an outflow of viewers, with its total share of overall viewership falling to 10.5%. Within this category, YouTube maintained its steady lead with a 2.3% share, while Netflix saw a decline to 2.0%.

About The Gauge™

The Gauge™ was created to provide the media industry with a monthly analysis of television usage across key television delivery platforms. Nielsen published its first edition of The Gauge™ in the U.S. in May 2021.

About The Gauge™ Methodology

The data comes from Nielsen’s single-source panel consisting of 3,500 households and almost 9,700 panelists. The Gauge™: Poland is based on monthly AMR (Average Minute Rating) audience share data. The data is presented for people over 4 years old, broken down into cable, satellite, terrestrial television (both linear and shifted in time up to 7 days), and viewership from streaming (live streaming viewership of TV stations on OTT platforms is classified as streaming viewership). The “Other” category includes views of unrecognized content.

Nielsen Poland created this iteration of The Gauge™ using methodologies comparisons.

New data reveals older Kiwis are financially resilient, loyal to local products, active in travel and employment, and deeply engaged with trusted media

Auckland, April 15, 2026 – New Zealand’s over-65 population is becoming one of the country’s most commercially important audiences, with new Nielsen Consumer & Media Insights (CMI) data showing older Kiwis are not only growing in number, but remain financially active, brand-aware, travel-focused and, for many, still part of the workforce.

The latest Nielsen CMI data shows around 890,000 New Zealanders are aged 65 and over, representing roughly 20% of the population aged 15+.

More than a third of over-65s are in a relatively comfortable financial position. Nielsen CMI shows 27% say they can afford to spend on extras, while 9% say they have few financial concerns. Together, that means more than a third of the audience has discretionary spending capacity, making them a meaningful market for brands in categories linked to lifestyle, travel, automotive, home and services.

The data also shows this is an audience with clear consumer values. Nearly 69% say they try to buy New Zealand-made products as often as possible, while 41% say they always check the country of origin before buying. Service also matters, with 68% saying they will shop elsewhere if they do not receive good customer service.

That combination of spending power, local preference and service sensitivity paints a clear picture of an audience that is deliberate, loyal and valuable, but not passive.

They are also active. More than 80% intend to take a holiday within New Zealand in the next 12 months, 45% intend to travel overseas, and 44% are likely to buy a new car. Meanwhile, 29% are planning some form of home improvement, pointing to continued demand across a range of major consumer categories.

Importantly, the data also challenges outdated assumptions about life after 65. Nielsen CMI shows 24% of over-65s are still in paid employment, equivalent to around 213,000 people. Of those still working, 42% work fewer than 20 hours per week, 26% work 20 to 34 hours, and 31% work 35 hours or more, while 10% of over-65s own their own business.

That makes the over-65 population relevant not only to consumer marketers, but also to employers, recruiters and organisations thinking about workforce participation, flexible work and the value of experienced talent.

Glenn Channell, Pacific Head of Advanced Analytics at Nielsen, said: “The over-65 audience is often underestimated. What the data shows is that this is a growing group with real purchasing power, strong values, and in many cases an ongoing role in the workforce. For brands, marketers and even employers, there is a major opportunity in understanding this audience properly, rather than relying on old assumptions.”

Helene Maurer, Commercial Director, NZ Agencies & Advertisers added: “That is where Nielsen CMI is so valuable. It gives advertisers and marketers a much fuller picture of who these consumers are, what matters to them, what they plan to spend on, and how to connect with them through the right channels.”

The media story is also important. Nielsen CMI shows over-65s remain highly engaged with trusted, traditional channels, making them a distinctive and reachable audience for cross-media planning.

Nearly 62% watch 23 hours or more of TV each week, 31% read four or more issues of a daily newspaper each week, and 29% listen to 20 hours or more of radio per week. Magazine readership also remains strong, with 16% reading four or more issues within the issue period, and a further 31% reading two to three issues.

At the same time, digital behaviour continues to shape how this audience can be reached. Around 24% are online for up to 35 hours a week, and Facebook is the platform used most often by 60% of over-65s, followed by WhatsApp at 20%.

The data also shows over-65 New Zealanders have a strong connection to local stories and culture. Nielsen CMI found 69% say it is important to have public funding for New Zealand-made TV, online programs and films, while 48% say they enjoy watching New Zealand-made TV and online programs. For advertisers, that points to an audience that not only values trusted local media environments, but is also more likely to respond to messaging that feels relevant to New Zealand life, identity and community.

For advertisers and marketers, the findings reinforce that New Zealand’s over-65s are not a niche or declining audience. They are a growing and economically important group whose influence spans spending, employment, community values and media engagement.

Locality becomes the first broadcast sales organization to implement
Nielsen’s MDE offering at scale.

NEW YORK, April 15, 2026Locality, the leading local TV advertising platform connecting brands to local audiences across broadcast and streaming, and Nielsen, a global leader in audience measurement and media intelligence, today announced the integration of Nielsen’s Media Data Engine (MDE) into Locality’s broadcast advertising infrastructure.

This integration accelerates demographic audience delivery and modernizes local television measurement in the U.S.

Per this collaboration, Locality becomes the first broadcast sales organization to implement Nielsen’s MDE offering at scale, enabling demographic audience delivery across all U.S. local markets to within four days of airing. Previously, this process took weeks.

The net industry benefit is a significant modernization of local TV measurement results, bringing greater speed, consistency and predictive capabilities to broadcast campaigns.

“This partnership marks a major step forward for local broadcast,” said Ann Hailer, President of Broadcast at Locality. “For decades, local television has operated on delayed reporting cycles that limited agility and optimization. By integrating Nielsen’s Media Data Engine directly into our infrastructure, we are accelerating access to trusted audience insights and enabling advertisers and stations to make faster, more informed decisions across local markets.”

Nielsen’s MDE is a next-generation data infrastructure designed to improve the timeliness and scalability of measurement. Through this integration, Locality gains streamlined access to Nielsen Local TV data across all 210 local markets, enabling more responsive campaign planning, in-flight optimization and performance monitoring.

“Local advertisers and broadcasters need the same level of speed and insight that has transformed national and digital media,” said Paul LeFort, Managing Director of Nielsen’s Local TV Client Services. “Our Media Data Engine was built to power the future of audience measurement and only Nielsen can reliably measure different demographics, including at the local level. By teaming up with Locality, we are introducing a new level of sophistication, innovation and possibilities for the entire local ad ecosystem.”

The integration reflects a broader shift toward converged planning and more dynamic campaign management. By accelerating access to demographic audience insights, Locality and Nielsen are enabling local broadcast to operate with greater transparency, comparability and responsiveness across markets. Beyond immediate speed gains, the partnership also lays the groundwork for future innovation, including predictive analytics, AI-driven modeling, and more advanced audience-based applications in linear television.

“This partnership is about building the infrastructure for the next generation of local advertising,” said Michael Collins, CEO of Locality. “Together with Nielsen, we are redefining what’s possible for local media, bringing broadcast measurement into a more modern, intelligent era.”

The integration is now live across all Locality-supported markets.
